Wade, Stanley de Smith and Sir William Wade. Today a significant number of Faculty members continue to have research interests in these fields and in the area of regulation and regulatory systems. Current work in the Faculty covers a wide range of public law jurisdictions, in addition to the United Kingdom, including the European Union, the common law jurisdictions of the Commonwealth and the United States and extends from constitutional and administrative law and theory (i.e. institutions, civil liberties, human rights, and judicial control) to the regulation of business and utilities.The Centre was formally opened by Lord Irvine of Lairg the Lord Chancellor, in January 1998.
