The trend is always reaching new highs poweredbythe cutting edge improved design, and manufacturing processes. With the advent of cheap sensor technologies and powerful computational facilities, condition monitoring has come up as another avenue to ensure safety and serviceability of composite materials in use in the aircrafts. Overall, this has opened severalavenues in research and application of composite materials in aviation industries. This course will cover three aspects of composites pertinent to aerospace: 1) recent advancements in the design aspect of composites, 2) the processing and product development knowledge related to composites and finally, 3) the condition monitoring of composites
