The study of founder populations with clusters of disease-related genes has improved our understanding of human genetics, both mechanistically and medically. Major adjustment by the medical teams is needed to translate the vast amount of new knowledge into medical practice. Our society is also undergoing changes in understanding and accepting the role of genetics in our disease profile.
